Good bye for now big brother. I have so many good memories of our times as children. First in Lethbridge and later on at Old Fort Henry in Kingston. Throughout our lives we have many times lived long distances away from each other even continents apart but have always remained close in spirit. Whenever we were able to meet up we always had wonderful adventures together especially with our families and extended family. I think you are now just on another of your great adventures. Love you and miss you. Until the next adventure together. Your little sister.

To the Thomas family
My sincere condolences on the passing of Pete. I knew Pete during our careers with External Affairs/Foreign Affairs and he was a wonderful caring person always ready to help and lend a hand. I fondly remember staying with Pete and Marlene in Nairobi, wonderful hosts as we sat in the backyard under palms trees watching their border collie chase frizbees for hours. A true gentleman always ready with a story about some adventure.
May he rest in peace.

I’ve known Pete for many years, starting from the same day we joined the Department of External Affairs in 1977. He was a great help to me in those early days when I struggled to learn the thousands of moving parts that made up a Teletype machine. He was a great host and tour guide when I made a short visit to Nairobi and was a great colleague during our year together in New Delhi. Later in life, after his move to Airdrie, he was a regular stopover point for us, with always a welcome room and a chance to share a spicy Indian take-out dinner. He loved a game of darts and if there was a pint to accompany it, so much the better. Pete was dependable, stoic, and had a great sense of humor and adventure which served him well through his many assignments abroad. He will be missed by the many friends he has made throughout his life.
Sincerest condolences to all his family in Canada and Swedan.
