In Memory
Peter Janulis
Peter Janulis, helicopter pilot,
foodie, collector of many things, passed away Tuesday, March 19th,
2024, at the age of 73.
He will be lovingly remembered by
his wife, Mickey; daughters, Tammy, Maxine, Crystal, Casey;
grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Christopher, Mathew; brother, Victor; and all
extended family and special friends.
Peter had a passion for flying ,
achieving his private pilot status in 1972 and moving on
to achieve his degree in Bachelor of Arts in 1974, from the
University of Western Ontario. He graduated from Canadore College of
Applied Arts and Technology in 1976 in their helicopter pilot program,
which lead him into a lifelong career and love of flying for over 40
years. He was published in 2019 at the Museum of Ontario Archeology for
“The Janulis Site” which was a find of a lifetime on his home farm in
1969 located in Lasalette, Ontario.
In his retirement he spent his time
making wine, cooking, carving walking sticks out of diamond
willow, collecting knives, spending time in the greenhouse with his many
plants and cutting grass at the acreage on his ride on
mower. Peter always had CBC Radio 2 playing while he downloaded every
movie and song he could find. He went from “Pete the Pilot” to “Pete
the Pirate”.
He was honest, kind, jolly and
loveable. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke
with his close buddies on the phone. He had a special
love for all animals and loved to name his last few “BOB” no matter the
gender. He loved his family and close friends and would always be a
listening ear if they needed him.
Peter will truly be missed by
all. A true pilot and man of the Sky. “Where we’re going, we don’t
need roads”. (Author unknown)
