In Memory
Peter Yaskiw

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather, Peter Paul Yaskiw, on Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was born in 1947 in Birtle, Manitoba, son of the late Paul and Olga (Derlago) Yaskiw. In 1974 he married Donna (Dushnisky) and they shared 52 happy years together.
Peter will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna; children, Jamie and Julie; grandchildren, Cody (Evelyn), Ella and Madyson; sisters, Donna Marie Yaskiw and Maureen Kostesky; brothers, Rod Dushnisky (Fiona) and Kelvin Dushnisky (Lidia); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Peter was predeceased by his parents; sister-in-law, Rhonda Francey and siblings, Rosemarie and Joseph.
Peter was a devoted family man who was admired for his kind and compassionate qualities and for his wonderful sense of humour. He was, in his own words, “a farmer at heart” and he enjoyed nature, driving, sports, “grocery shopping”, reading and he was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage.
Peter and Donna left the family farm in 1997 and moved to Airdrie, AB where he continued his interests in agriculture.
Thank you to the staff at Prairie Rose Funeral Services in Airdrie for their compassion towards our family and for their care of Peter.
A Celebration of Peter’s Life was held for him following his cremation.

You are the person everyone should aspire to be like - so much love in your heart to give; kindness shown to every person you met; a devoted husband who’s adoration for his wife defined true love; and someone who put his love for his family above all.
Though we all already deeply miss your physical presence, I know that you are with us here in spirit always - living on in the stories we reminisce. I cherish the glimpses of your little chuckle that come to mind and hold you close to my heart.
I love you so much Uncle Peter 🤍 If anyone has a special place in heaven, it’s you!

When candles burn I will think of all of you celebrating in another place of peace and calm, and watching over all of us here.
Until we meet again, "Rest In Peace" my dear brother and special friend.
Lovingly, your sister Maureen (Moe) XOXO
