In Memory
Ralph Ofeigur McKinnon

It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph O. McKinnon announces his passing on April 1, 2025, at the Continuing Care Centre in Olds, Alberta.
Born in Innisfail and raised in Water Valley, Ralph spent his life dedicated to his family, community, and the land. He was a longtime partner in F. McKinnon and Sons, a family-run timber, firewood, and farming operation, and was still making deliveries well into his late 70s.
A devoted community member, Ralph was a founding member of the Cremona Lions Club, a 60-year Mason, a Shriner known as "BOSS the Clown," and a longtime member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion in Cremona. He gave generously of his time to countless fundraisers and community events.
Ralph was a passionate sports fan, holding season tickets to the Calgary Flames and Stampeders for decades, and proudly followed his grandchildren’s athletic pursuits. He also loved to travel, with highlights including Japan and China.
Ralph is lovingly remembered by his children, Ellen (Dave) Vanderkolk and Robin (Denice) McKinnon; grandchildren Vivian, Katie (Luke), Bryce, and Kelsey (Evan); brother Donald (Marjorie) McKinnon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Josephine, and siblings Diane, Ronald, and Lachlan.
Ralph’s family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the “Girls” and all the staff at the Olds Dialysis unit and Olds Long term care staff for their kindness helping us look after Ralph. He had many caring doctors as well, but special thanks to Dr. Scott Douglas and Dr. Hoffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crossfield Community Center, 900 Mountain Avenue, Crossfield, AB, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.ca
