Ralph Stewart Tomlinson, affectionately known as Stew, was born on March 22, 1949, in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Airdrie, Alberta, where he had most recently resided.

Stew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was married to his late wife, Sharon, who predeceased him in April 2020. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Steven and grandson Ronin; as well as his daughter, Stacey (Erik) and granddaughters, Raelyn and Jordan. Stew also leaves behind his sister, Donna (John) Mazanek and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A long-time member of the Okotoks Lions Club, Stew was known for his commitment to community service and his dedication to helping others. He had a passion for water skiing and cherished his time spent at the lake, which he considered his favorite place in the world. Stew was well-known for his love of a good joke, especially those he told himself, often leaving others in stitches with his infectious laughter and warm smile.

Stew's defining traits included a twinkle in his eye and a contagious laugh that could light up any room. He was a dedicated volunteer, an excellent neighbor, and a true friend to many. His impact on the lives of those around him will be remembered fondly, as he brought joy and kindness wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Service to honor Stew's Life will be held at Carstairs Half Century Club, 1139 Osler Street, on Sunday, November 17 at 2:30 pm.
