Richard Phillips

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Phillips, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Rick was born in Didsbury and spent the majority of his life in the Didsbury area.

Rick was a lover of sports. He enjoyed golf in the summer, and curling in the winter along with a variety of other hobbies over the years.

Rick loved kids. He truly enjoyed being around kids. He spent a lot of time coaching, be it hockey in the winter, or baseball in the summer, he was always there to lend a hand. This love of kids was demonstrated when he celebrated his 40th year of driving school bus not too long ago.

Rick is lovingly remembered by his kids, Rick (Wendy) Phillips, Sean (Meggin) Phillips and Brandi (Jayson) Hughes; and his grandkids, Colton (Nikki), Dawson (Meghyn), Bayly (Bridget), Cienna, Shelby, Nash and Aleah; his siblings, Gail Petersen, Ted (Diane) Phillips and Mike (Bonnie) Phillips; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rick is predeceased by his parents, Ken and Elsie; his brother, Wayne; and his brother-in-law, Bud Petersen.

Please join us for a public Celebration of Rick’s Life at the Elks Hall in Didsbury, AB, 1914 20 St, Didsbury, AB, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, please bring an unwrapped toy for underprivileged children or make a donation to a children’s charity of your choice.
