WHITE, Rick

“Newf”

April 18, 1957 - September 21, 2023

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his step-daughter, Tricia Hicks; and step-son, Phillip Hicks; along with Rick’s family, his brother, Randy White; sister, Darlene (Paul) Mikkelsen; baby sister, Lourie (Paul) Bursey; 6 nieces and nephews; 4 grandchildren; not to mention all the dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Carl; and his mother, May; again too many dear friends to mention.

Rick “Newf” passed away peacefully, as per his wishes, with his baby sister from Newfoundland, and 2 very special friends. Rick was an icon back in the 80’s & 90’s making memories with over 400 friends, and many were still dear to him to his last day. He was proud of his heritage, being born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, hence the nickname “Newf”. A collector of Coca-Cola, Harley Davidson, and Indian Motorcycles.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Danette and Ryan for caring for Rick & being there till the end.

A “Party” will be held at 5pm on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 at Red Deer County.

Rick loved all animals, and would like, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to your local SPCA.

Rick was one of the kindest gentlest souls you could ever want to meet. His love and zest for life warmed our hearts. He always lit up a room when he walked into it. Love you brother, I'm just happy you're no longer in pain. You'll always have a place in our hearts and memories.

I met Rick through my sister, Andrea. I remember him as a kind and generous soul. He introduced my 88 year old grandma to the pleasure of Sambuca, and was always a gentleman with her. He also showed great affection for my nephew when he was a toddler. He will surely be missed by us, as he was a big part of our lives once.

Newf was such a good friend and confident, while I lived in Red Deer up until 1997.
His sense of humor and love of cannabis and Rock'n'roll was unforgettable! May he rest easy 💐💙 love to all our Windsor friends
