Robert "Bob" Dunning

Robert 'Bob' Dunning, of Airdrie AB, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023, in Didsbury AB, at age 80.

Bob was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Laurie Mattucci and Ron Dunning; sister, Carol; grandchildren, Rocky, Nico (Tia), Brianna, Jenna (Sam), and Riley; great-grandchildren, Leo, Quin, Ryerson and Wrenley; as well as many other family members and friends. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gail; parents, Laurence and Alma; and sisters, Pat and Ruth.

Bob was born on April 16th, 1943, in Calgary, AB. He married the love of his life on September 5, 1964, and from then on, he devoted his life to her and the family they created, always putting them ahead of all else. He started his cabinetry business many years ago, which he affectionately named after his children. He was a master of his craft, which everyone who was lucky enough to have cabinets made by him or receive one of his famous mini rocking chairs would attest to. He had an unmatched sense of humour, and knew very well the power of laughter and positivity. That, combined with his wit and cheekiness, always coloured his annual backyard family reunions, helping to make them unforgettable. Bob loved the outdoors and shared his passion for it through nature walks with his kids when they were little, countless fishing trips through the years, and the recent trip he took with his son to the Yukon. His love, warmth, and influence will never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed.

Rhonda and I are so saddened to hear this news of Bobs passing and send our condolences to Bobs children and grandchildren.
A memory we will cherish is the many family BBQs Bob and Gail would have at their house in Airdrie and sitting around the campfires in their backyard. Bob you will be dearly missed.
