Robert Ira Bergeson

With very sad hearts we announce the passing of Robert Ira Bergeson on Monday, October 27th, 2025 at the young age of 91.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Beverly, of 72 years; daughters, Jeannie and Shelley, sons-in-law, Tom, Lyle, and Ralph; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Larry; daughter, Kathy; parents, Lawrence and Jean; sister, Betty; and brothers, Leonard, Lester, Clifford, and Jim.

Robert was born in Calgary, raised in the Cremona area and in later years travelled around Alberta working on oil rigs and then later came back home working for Mountainview County grading roads within the community. He remained in the Cremona area till his passing.

He had the passion for horses which led him into horse racing, horse training, and many trips trail riding with friends.

He was a very creative and talented hobbyist, including welding horseshoes and bridals into tables and lamps, building wagons and in recent years making blankets as gifts and donations for local charities.

He'll always be remembered for his sense of humor and generosity, and especially the love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors, and all those whose lives he touched. Please join us to share stories and Celebrate the Life of Robert Bergeson at the Cremona Community Hall, in Cremona AB on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alberta Lung Association, www.ablung.ca

How do I even put into words what I'm going to miss the most....your laugh, your instant jokes and poems in the middle of dinner, your text messages, your sense of adventure, your creative brain, and your undying work ethic to name a few. Oh and especially the friendly fire and banter texting whenever the battle of alberta was on(and the oilers still rule all). I'm not sure what life will look like without you in it and I feel that I'm not old enough to know that yet...but I do know I will miss you dearly everyday. Rest easy now Gramps, but I know that you won't be sitting still and I know you'll already be adding improvements and creative touches everywhere you go. Maybe even teaching blanket making classes. Enjoy all the new adventures you will go on as I know there will be many and know that we all love and miss you so much already. Thanks for being a one of a kind grandpappy...So long. xoxo
