In Memory
Roelie Whitlow

It is with much love that
we mourn the passing of Roelie Whitlow of Didsbury, on Monday, December 18,
2023, at the age of 80.
She will be lovingly
remembered by her daughter, Karen; siblings, Celia, Dickie (Dellis), Tony
(Linda); sister-in-law, Lavina; her late husband Sydney’s children, Babs and
June; and nieces and nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her
husband, Sydney; parents, Teunis and Teinisje Van Holland; brother, Pieter; brother-in-law,
Pat; and Sydney’s children, George, Syd, and Lorraine.
A lover of nature and
animals, Roelie loved spending time outdoors, whether tending to her yard and
gardens, or engaging in one of several activities she enjoyed (walking, hiking,
bike riding, or snowshoeing). She was a music lover, learning to play the piano
as an adult and singing in the community choir. She was an accomplished knitter
and keen card player. Roelie was a fiercely independent and practical woman and
adept at fixing all manners of things. Most importantly, Roelie will be
remembered for her brilliant smile and laughter, and for being a most loving
and devoted Mum and friend.
Karen wishes to extend her
heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bethany Didsbury for the compassionate and
loving care for her Mum throughout her lengthy journey with dementia.
I love you more than the
sky Mum, and will miss you always.
A private memorial to take
place at a later date.
