It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald McMillen, a beloved brother, uncle, friend, and cherished member of the Airdire community. Ron peacefully departed this world on June 22, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on May 21, 1944, in Banff, Alberta, Ron was the son of Grace and James McMillen. From an early age, he embarked on a life filled with adventure and a passion for sports and exploration. Ron's zest for life was evident in his numerous hobbies, including golfing, hockey, baseball, camping, water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling. Whether it was hitting the slopes, cheering on his favorite teams, or teeing off at his favorite golf course, Ron found immense joy in pursuing his passions.
Ron's enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he formed lifelong friendships along the way. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Lois McMillen, brother Murray (Jan). He will also be deeply missed by his niece, Julie (Marc), great-niece, great-nephews, and dear friend Sherry. Ron leaves behind a wide circle of friends who were touched by his generous spirit and contagious laughter. Ron's warm presence, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, creating lasting bonds that will be cherished forever by all that knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Ronald McMillen. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
