Ronald Alexander Penno passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 80. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gloria; son, Cody (Sam); stepdaughters, Deborah Salo (Jeff), Lori Larson (Doug) and Lisa Larson; grandchildren, Alexandria and Isaak, Serena (Mike), Erin (Colby), Dakota and Quintin (Alex), Colby and Annalynn; great-grandchildren, Luxy, Ella, James, and Lincoln; mother in law, Margaret Nielsen, cousin, Garth(Bonnie) and many other family members and special friends.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Dorothy Penno; and grandson, Braydon Ross.

Ron enjoyed working as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Tearing down the grain elevators across Alberta and Saskatchewan were a highlight for him. Ron thoroughly enjoyed many fishing trips, especially going to Kitimat and the Queen Charlotte Islands. Ron spent many years in Golden, BC before moving to Didsbury. While in Golden he played hockey for the Golden Rockets and made many friends while playing. Since retirement Ron enjoyed spending time with family and friends, tinkering in the yard and of course watching the Pittsburg Penguins and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brunner and the incredible nursing staff in the acute care unit at the Didsbury hospital for their excellent care in the past couple of weeks.

There will be a come and go Celebration of Life in honour of Ron at their residence in Didsbury on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 1-4 pm. (Please message directly for address)

Rest in Peace Ron, You were a part of our lives since 1957 as you were friends with my brothers Gerry Kramer and Bob Kramer and you all played ball with Alex being your coach. Your Uncle Arnie Penno was only a few years older than you so he was more like a brother and you loved calling him Uncle. We were all so proud of you with your hockey skills. My condolences to Gloria, Cody and family and Jodi too.
