Ronald Welch

Ronald Kenneth Welch passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 13, 2026, Ron leaves behind his cherished wife, Mary Welch, his daughter, son, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Born on October 3, 1949, Ron faced challenges early in life that helped shape his remarkable resilience. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering sense of responsibility, he built a life defined by the values he chose for himself; loyalty, perseverance, and devotion to family. Ron was a man who never shied away from honest work. Throughout his life he wore many hats, including farmer, mechanic, volunteer firefighter, and countless others. Ron was known for his perseverance, quiet confidence, and deep sense of responsibility that defined his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. One of Ronald's greatest talents was in the kitchen. He loved cooking and was happiest when family were gathered around the table. Whether for a special occasion or no occasion at all, he could always be counted on to put together a meal worth remembering. One of Ron's most honourable accomplishments was helping raise six of his grandchildren, becoming the Papa who was present for the everyday moments and the milestones. Taking them to their sporting events, on Forrest Wardens camping trips, and sharing the things he loved most. Introducing them to the classics such as music, movies, and television shows. His love of cars, dogs, ducks, and a good movie became part of the memories he created with his family. Through the time he invested, the lessons he taught, and the example he set, Ronald helped shape the people his grandchildren would become, leaving them with memories and values they will carry for the rest of their lives. Though often a quiet man, Ron had a remarkable gift for delivering the funniest joke of the evening most often without trying or even realizing it. His humour, steady nature, and genuine heart made him unforgettable to those who knew him. In the weeks before his passing, Ron endured a heart attack that required surgery, and several weeks in the hospital. Even during those difficult days, his thoughts continually returned to his beloved wife. He spoke often about Mary and worried more about her well-being than his own, a reflection of the deep love and devotion that defined their life together. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, the values he passed down, and the memories that will continue to bring laughter and comfort for generations to come. Papa will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
