Ron Resch

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald (“Ron”) Charles Resch.

Ron was born on September 24, 1947, in Winnipeg. Growing up, he was an avid fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and a lifelong admirer of The Doors.

He attended the University of Manitoba, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Mathematics. Following university, Ron began a successful career with IBM, where he worked for 22 years.

Ron and his first wife, Linda, welcomed two wonderful children, Steven Charles Resch (1979) and Kimberley Ann Resch (1982). Tragically, his son Steve passed away in 2006 as the result of a vehicle accident.

Ron later met the love of his life, Janice, in Whitefish, Montana. They were married in 1993 and shared 33 wonderful years together. Through this marriage, Ron became a proud father to Janice’s sons, Bradley, Scott, and Gregory Bourke.

Ron and Janice shared a deep love of travel, especially their trips to Mexico, where “Señor Ron” became like family to many of the staff at Marival Residences Resort.

Above all else, Ron cherished time with his family and grandchildren — whether gathered around the dinner table, vacationing at Marival, or sitting beside the campfire at the family lake lot in Gull Lake.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice; his daughter, Kimberley; and his sons, Bradley (Ashley), Scott (Christine), and Gregory (Nicole) Bourke. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jaycee (Riley), Jayden, Sage, Grace, Haven, and Tyson Bourke.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family finds comfort in knowing that Ron is now reunited with his son, Steven.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
