Rose Broatch

Rose Marie Broatch (nee
Zak), was born on March 12, 1934, in Daysland, AB., and passed away peacefully
on January 4, 2024 in Calgary, AB.
Mother of sons, Robbie and
Scott; granddaughter, Sydney; and great grandsons, Frank and Jack.
A life well-lived and love
well-shared are the twin beacons that light her passage into eternity. 1957
marked a significant milestone in Rose's life when she formed a beautiful union
with Bruce Donald Broatch and married June 30, 1956. Their shared dreams and
passions nurtured a strong bond that lasted throughout their lives.
In 1967, Rose embarked on a
new career venture at China City. The following 40 years saw her become a well
known neighbor , friend and mentor to many of the Acadia and area residents.
Being an active attendee at
St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Rose's faith was a vital part of her identity.
Her engagement with the
community was a testament to her belief in the divine and the power of unity. Rose
had an eclectic palate, with hot wings, pierogies, and cabbage rolls being
her favorite foods. Her love for cooking was well known among her friends
and family, often making it a staple in their conversations and bonding
moments.
The soothing melodies of
country radio held a special place in Rose's heart. Her love for music was not
just limited to listening; it was a profound emotional connection that she held
dear.
A sports enthusiast, Rose
cheered for the Calgary Flames, and her passion was infectious to everyone
around her. Rose found joy in the simplest of things like playing bumps was one
of her favorite pastimes, reflecting her love for games that stimulated the
mind.
Her favorite forms of
exercise were gardening and yard work. She found solace in tending to plants
and revealed the beauty of nature.
The picturesque beaches and
vibrant culture of Hawaii were Rose's favorite vacation spots.
Rose also loved her time at
Winnipeg Beach area with family.
Closer to home, the thrill
of horse racing was an experience she deeply enjoyed whether it was watching or
helping Bruce with raising their thoroughbred horses.
Rose's life was a testament
to her resilience, compassion, and unwavering spirit.
Her love for life and the
vibrancy she brought into our lives will be deeply missed and forever
cherished.
As we bid farewell to Rose,
we remember her zest for life and her generous heart, keeping her alive in our
memories and our hearts.
Rose will be missed dearly.
Interment and prayers for
Rose will be held on Saturday, June 29,
2024, at McDougall United Church, 8516 Athabasca Street SE, Calgary, AB at 1:00
PM.
In Lieu of flowers
donations are asked to be given in Rose’s name to Mcdougall United Church ,8516
Athabasca St. S.E. Calgary,Alberta, T2H 1S2.
