Russell Loitz

Russell Gerald Loitz passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at the age of 61 years at the Foothills Hospital surrounded by family. 

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Christopher James; his parents, Orvil “Jerry” & Ruby; sister, Karen (Randy) Seal; nephews, Jared (Katrina) and Sheldon (Bibana) Seal; great nephew, Santiago Seal, and great niece, Paisley Seal; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was predeceased by Christopher’s mother, Laurlei James, his grandparents, Emerson & Elizabeth Crisler & Fred & Jane Loitz. 

Russell was raised in Crossfield, enjoyed playing hockey, baseball and hanging out with his friends. He eventually moved to Calgary to start his career as a welder. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crossfield Baptist Church on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 2:00PM with a luncheon to follow.
