In Memory
Sheila Jessie Winslow

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Sheila Jessie Winslow (MacLennan) on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at the age of 86.
Sheila was born on July 3rd 1939 in Aberchirder, Scotland to Williamina (“Nettie”) and James (“Jimmy”) MacLennan. She later moved to Kincardine O’Neil where her parents owned and operated the local hotel and pub. It was mostly in Kinker she raised her four children, Rory, Sheona, Andy and John. Sheila met George Winslow while he was working as a rig manager in the North Sea, and they were married in Banchory, Scotland in 1977. Not long after, in 1979, the family immigrated to Canada. They enjoyed a life of travel and moved often, for work and for leisure to the coast of Spain and Majorca among other places, while leaving roots in the Calgary area. Sheila is remembered as a great animal lover. She raised Chihuahuas and Yorkshire terriers and friends and family will remember the variety of animals she brought home from auction, including a jersey cow named Daisy. Sheila loved children and babies and always lit up when surrounded by family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitors could count on a hearty meal and a generous stash of chocolate hiding in the fridge.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, George Winslow; and her sister, Morag MacDonald.
She will be missed greatly by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and large extended family all over the world.
