Shirley Lamont

Shirley Jean Lamont (nee Petty), 87, of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026 after a long battle with dementia.

Shirley was born April 21, 1938 in Prince Albert, Sask. She gave of her time and was passionate about IODE and was given a lifetime membership. She was also very active with Dreams Take Flight working quietly and selflessly helping hundreds of children on their special day. Shirley has made great friends with these organizations and welcomed every one she met.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Fred Lamont and infant son, David. Her mom and dad (Kate and John), brother Jack, Jim, Allan and sister Rose. She is survived by her brother Dave (Audrey), her children Fred (Johanne), Ken (Bernadette), and Debbie. She is also survived by grandchildren, Scott (Carolyn), Monica (Mike), Kevin (Jenn), Jonathan (Stephanie), Sonya (Devon), Jamie (Connor), and Brittany (Jono), 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Shirley was most at peace with the kids around. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Fred and Shirely have been laid to rest together at Queen's Park Cemetery.

There will be a Celebration of Life for both Fred and Shirley held at the Triwood Community Hall, (Collingwood Room) Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 1:30 to 3:30. Please stop in for coffee or tea and visit with family and friends
