In Memory
Spencer Vrooman

It is
with deep sadness we wish to share that Spencer Harry Vrooman lost his battle
with ALS on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 62. Spencer was an avid car
enthusiast, computer builder, devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Spencer was born in Calgary, Alberta where he attended school and completed his Red Seal Millwright ticket though SAIT. Spencer loved Alberta and throughout the years resided in Calgary, Okotoks, Coleman, Taber and Red Deer where he remained with his beloved wife Corinne and two dogs. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, biking, and sitting around a fire pit with his friends and family. As he aged, he enjoyed a slower pace and could be found tinkering in the garage, watching movies, building his dream patio and munching on peanut butter cups while sipping on a Coke.
Spencer is lovingly remembered by his wife, Corinne; children, Jackelyn, Michael (Kylie), Christa, Danielle, Dustin; and grandchildren, Ember, Matrim, Nick, Haleigh, Dylan, and Clayton. Spencer was predeceased by his mother, Lois; sister, Deborah; and his father, Harry.
In honour of Spencer’s wishes, a memorial service will not take place. Donations can be made in Spencer’s memory to the ALS Society of Alberta, 7874 10 Street NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8W1.
We
would like to also thank The Calgary ALS Society, The Red Deer Lending Cupboard
and AHS Home Care team, as these organizations made a huge impact in
maintaining his quality of life and dignity right up until his last day. A huge
sense of gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Rob Lognon, ALS Society, as his
support and kindness during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
