Tammy June McPherson
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Tammy June McPherson, who left us peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 59 after a courageous 14-month battle with cancer.
Born on October 11, 1966, in High Prairie, Alberta, Tammy was a bright light whose laughter and kindness touched everyone she met. If you knew Tammy, you were her friend - she had that rare gift of making everyone feel welcome and valued.
Tammy shared 33 wonderful years of marriage with her husband and partner-in-adventure, Vern McPherson. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and a little mischief. Whether they were out hunting, camping, or laughing about the times she found herself coated in mud, Tammy embraced every moment with joy and humour.
She was a devoted mom to her daughter Kelsey (Adam) and son Tanner, and a proud, loving grandma to Lindsay, who brought endless light (and trips to the Calgary Zoo) to her life. Tammy’s family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent together — especially the ones filled with laughter. Prior to meeting Vern, Tammy had two children, Joshua and Lindsay, whom she spoke of often with her family.
Tammy spent many years as part of the WestJet family, where she made lifelong friends and brightened every crew room she entered. Later, she followed her heart into childcare, working at a local daycare centre where she connected with every child, family, and coworker she met. Her caring spirit and positivity made her a favorite among both little ones and grown-ups alike.
Tammy is lovingly remembered by her husband Vern; daughter Kelsey (Adam); son Tanner; granddaughter Lindsay; and many aunties, uncles, extended family, and countless friends who were blessed to know her. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Doreen. Tammy’s smile and laughter will carry on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may be gone from this world, the light she brought will shine forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AARCS animal rescue https://aarcs.ca/donate/ ( mention Tammy McPherson as the Honoree) or the Airdrie

We were so heartbroken when we heard of Tammy's passing and we would like to extend our condolences to her family. I met Tammy at hunting camp when I started dating Dale, she was instantly a friend. Tammy had a way of making you feel at ease and she had a wicked sense of humor. We have lots of memories, sitting around the campfire, morning coffees with Papa Doug and lots of laughter around camp. We drifted apart as life got busier, but we thought about Tammy and Vern frequently as you often do with extended family. Tammy will remain in our hearts, it was truly a blessing to have been part of her life.

Our deepest condolences to Tammy’s family and all who loved her.

We first met Tammy more than 35 years ago, back in the days when life was all about friends, camping trips, hunting weekends, and long evenings spent socializing and laughing together. Those memories have stayed with us all these years.

As time went on and our kids were born, we stayed in touch for a few years, but like it often does, life got busy and we drifted apart. Looking back now, we are so very sorry that we let that relationship slip away for a time, because we will never get those years back with Tammy.

When we recently sat down with Tammy, it truly felt like no time had passed at all. She filled us in on so much we had missed, and she listened with such genuine kindness as we shared stories from years gone by. And of course, there was her laugh—so unique, so unmistakably hers. No one else had a laugh like Tammy’s. You could hear it across a room and instantly feel lighter just because she was there.

That was the kind of person Tammy was—warm, open-hearted, and always present. She made you feel like you mattered, no matter how much time had gone by.

We are grateful for the moments we shared—both decades ago with our most recent visit. Tammy will be deeply missed, and she will never be forgotten

it is of the utmost sadness that we have lost such a special person, our memories are strong & will never forget them.
Even though we have been out of touch for so long Tammy has always had a parking spot in our hearts and will remain there forever, she was a very strong person that sets examples for all of us. Can't imagine the strength it took to fight her battel.
Vern you and the kids will always be in our hearts and mom will be there to guide the way for her.
