In Memory
Timothy Randall DeVouge

Tim was the apple of his mother’s eye from the day he came into the world. He didn’t always make her life easy but he always had a way of charming her and she loved him fiercely.
In his early years you could find Tim outdoors at play, or at mischief, pushing the envelope to the latest possible time when he had to come back inside. He had no trouble finding things to occupy his time and no problem finding others to come along for the ride. He was well liked and considered a friend by many.
Tim started on the rigs at a very young age in the mid ‘80’s. In the beginning for Alberta Gold, then taking it to completions with Baker Hughes and Halliburton in countries like Turkmenistan, China, Turkey and more. He was liked and respected by his colleagues around the globe.
Tim had a keen perspective but shared it rarely, a complicated persona but thrived in simplicity and a loving heart even though shadowed by his struggles. He was meticulous (sometimes a little OCD) in the things he cared about and that was evident in the line that was drawn between his side of the room and big brother Mike’s. In his later years, Tim was proud that he had accomplished sobriety, and he worked really hard at making things right for himself and his family. He was especially proud of what he built with Karen and their blended family, as well his daughter Tara who was/is on an impressive life trajectory through education and good choices.
Tim met Karen online in 1999 and then in person six months later. They both knew at first meeting they could not be without each other and on December 25, 2002, they surprised the family with a ceremony at Christmas dinner.
They enjoyed camping with the kids, quadding and nature and later he enjoyed visiting Karen’s father’s property in Ontario. He loved to chop wood for the sauna, a traditional Finnish sauna. He also enjoyed the occasional flight with his brother Mike.
When Tim finished in the oil patch he and Karen decided to try Resident Managers and were hired in Halifax with Paramount Management. Tim established many relationships with tenants and loved to do the gardening, making sure the flowers were spectacular for summer.
Tim and Karen moved back to Red Deer for the last three years of his life and in December 2024 Tim experienced health issues and was told he had cancer. An uphill battle, Tim and Karen opted for MAID and on August 1, 2025 Tim took his last breath with his loved ones around him. A brave decision made on his terms.
Tim is lovingly remembered by his wife Karen; children, Victoria (Phil) Mikal, Brent (Brittany) Klassen, Mia Koskela, and Tara DeVouge; siblings, Mike (Min) DeVouge, Cindy DeVouge, Dawn (Mike) DeVouge, Dorothy (Gordy) Morphy, and Jennifer DeVouge; nieces, nephews, Uncle Fred (Donna) DeVouge and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Judy Smith; father, Tom DeVouge.
Tim, we’ll miss your sense of humour, the way you’d arch your left brow and grin when you thought something was ridiculous, and that keen perspective that when shared, made everyone stop and think.
You left with immense love and now let there be peace.
In lieu of flowers please look at your family and share your love with them, they are precious.
Family was everything to Tim, let that be your everything.
