Victor Wiebe Jr.

Victor John Wiebe, Jr. left his earthly body to be forever with His Lord and Savior, peacefully passing at home after living with ALS for 20 years. Born April 9, 1947, he grew up on a dairy farm in Chilliwack, BC. Vic married Eren after a long distance relationship, bringing her from Mexico to live in the Calgary area, settling in Airdrie. For 32 years he was a ROP inspector, visiting dairy farms for the Province in Southern Alberta.

After a near fatal vehicle accident Vic found new clarity on what was important in life, and pursued those things with intense passion: his love for his wife, the God who spared his life for a reason, church, Bible study, local hockey team supporter, and writing poetry.

He leaves behind his loving wife; son, Victor III; daughter, Eren; brothers, Wayne, Larry, Duane, Brian; and sisters, Valerie and Sheila.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 am, those wishing to pay their respects are welcome 10:00 - 10:45 am at   Grace Baptist Church, Airdrie,  committal service at Airdrie Cemetery to follow the service, and lunch and fellowship afterwards at the church. If so desired, donations can be directed towards the ALS Society of Alberta.  Service may be viewed via Livestream at:  https://youtube.com/live/Ygy7OXDYys0?feature=share

“With joy we've lived as years went past,

But now for me the die is cast;

I'm near the end of usefulness:

I'm dyin' slow with ALS.

It ain't no fun, this dyin' slow

And not how I would choose to go,

But life I have is not my own:

It's owned by One who sits on throne.”

Excerpt from poem “Dyin' Slow”, written by Vic Wiebe, Jr.

My only memory was from when I was about 4 and my mother, his daughter Karin brought us to spend Christmas with his family. I had the China doll he gave me for that year for years, and I remember being so upset when it broke. Sorry for your loss.
