Kaye is predeceased by her husband of 65 years Bob McKee (2020), her granddaughter Amy McKee (1986) and her sister Sheila Campbell (2020).

Fort Macleod was where Kaye’s family resided during her younger years. After graduating from high school, she attended the Royal Alexandra Hospital School of Nursing in Edmonton and graduated in 1953. She worked at hospitals in Edmonton, Claresholm, California, Taber and returned to Claresholm which became her home where Kaye and Bob raised their two sons on a ranch west of Claresholm. Kaye was part of the nursing profession for 43 years nursing at the General Hospital, Auxiliary Hospital, and became Director of Nursing at the Care Center. She spent her retirement years travelling with Bob, participating in senior swimming competitions across Canada and internationally, playing golf, card games like bridge, canasta, and euchre, darts, hooking rugs, but her favorite past time, being an avid reader, was the enjoyment she received when reading books. She also followed all sports, especially her beloved Blue Jays, and the many conversations with her grandchildren around sporting events. The family will always remember her special meals, that she never forgot a card or gift, her words of advice, and that she loved and prayed for her family.

A celebration of Kaye’s life will be held at a later date and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Claresholm Health Foundation.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Kaye. She was such a great friend to my mom (Elvina Smith) and such a bubbly light for all around her. She was often thought about over the years. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family at this difficult time.

John, David and families.
Sincerest Sympathy to each of you.
I met Kaye when I was 16 working as a summer student at Willow Creek Auxilliary in the mid 1960s. During the 3 summers, Kaye mentored me on the importance of providing residents the best care with dignity, particularly in death. That is a skill I have cherished. As an adult, my husband Mel and I shared happy times visiting with Kaye and Bob. Mel worked with Bob at Safeway Shelter Systems in the late 1960s. Mel and Bob each passed in 2020. Kaye and I have visited each month since then when I return to Claresholm.
I treasure Kaye’s friendship, quick wit, sense of humor, and wise mentoring. I will miss her.
