December 19th, 1944 - August 11th, 2025
Wayne Doiron

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Doiron on August 11, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Diana; his children, Leanne (Warren) Pharis of Manning, AB, Kori (Joel) Steenhart of Crossfield, AB and Dallas Doiron of Carbon, AB; grandchildren, Ward Pharis, Clayton (Avery) Pharis, Levi Pharis, Sarah Steenhart, Scarlett Steenhart; and great-grandson, Kirby Pharis. Also remembered by his siblings, Lorna (Urbain) Gaudin, Pauline (John) Cox, Carol-Ann (Don) Evans, Irene (Ron) McLean, John (Helen) Doiron, Ricky (Tracey} Doiron; sisters-in-law, Inez Doiron and Marina Doiron; in-laws, Judi (Bill) Brose and Darryl (Connie) Murphy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was pre-deceased by his parents, Aubin & Bertha; brothers, Ron, Fred, Allison; sister, Marilyn; and in-laws, Bill & Doreen Murphy.

Wayne was born and raised in Hope River, Prince Edward Island. At the age of 16, he headed west via Quebec and Toronto, eventually landing in Alberta to work in the oilfield. A few years later he met Diana, and they were married in 1968 with their three children to follow.

Wayne spent most of his life as a truck driver. In retirement, he traded in the gravel trailer for a 5th wheel holiday trailer, and they set out on the road. Wayne and Diana set up their "Hole in the Woods" in PEI on a piece of land that he had grown up on. They would spend every summer here enjoying seafood, golfing and trips to the shore with family and friends. Once fall approached, they would pack up and head back to Alberta for some visiting and to help out on the farm before heading to Arizona & Nevada for the winter.

Besides his family, Wayne's greatest accomplishment was his dedication and 46 years of Alcoholics Anonymous. This was his extended family, and he went to every meeting he could until his illness changed his world. As much as AA saved his life once, he played a roll in helping many others find recovery.

He will be sorely missed by so many.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.

Sending my thoughts and condolences to the whole Doiron family. Your family was an epic part of my childhood, Leanne and I will always remember your dad as a happy, joking man with a big heart, who was excellent at catching lobster and being an amazing family man.

Lots of great memories with Wayne. He was a super brother-in-law to me and I will sadly miss his contagious laugh and sense of humor. Rest in peace Wayne, God bless.

My memories are many, but moving to Calgary and spending lots of time with him and Di for we lived in the same yard for sometime. This is where I got to know him more than a tease that he was to his siblings. Will miss his laugh, the Hole in the Woods just won't be the same. Rest easy big brother. Hope you and Curt will find time to share a golf game together.

My special memory of my brother would be our walks and talks up the Hot Dog Road on PEI when we managed to meet up with each other on summer vacation. Definitely not the times he would tease me as kids. Rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
We will see each other again.
