In Memory
Wayne Larratt

Wayne was born in the back of a truck on his way to
the Calgary hospital on June 12th 1936. He fell in love with nature and the outdoors
at a very early age growing up on a farm in the Millarville area. He learned
hard work from day 1 and was always willing to help anyone. At 14 years old
Wayne went to work on the rigs often living in his car. He worked all over
Canada and held a variety of positions including Heavy Duty Mechanic and Crane
operator. His favorite place to work
however was in the Arctic where he made lifelong friends who helped bring out
his great sense of humour.
Wayne loved
camping especially at Allstones (Nordegg) and being close to the
mountains. He often joked when he left
to go camping in the spring that he would come back home when his water lines
started to freeze in the fall. He was there so often that he was known as the
Mayor of Allstones and his good friend Ron made him a Mayor of Allstones
sign. Wayne could look at anything and
figure out how to fix and repair it. If
parts or tools were not available he would make his own as well as building his
own machines to make those tools. He had
a collection of clocks and people from all over would bring theirs to him for
repair. He was willing to lend a hand to
anyone and would often provide assistance over the phone on how to fix vehicles, clocks, machinery and could help figure out anything
mathematical.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by
his daughter, Deb Womacks; grandchildren, Mitch Womacks and Lisa Womacks (Jake
Butler); brothers, Walter (Doreen)
Larratt and Robert (Iris) Larratt; sister-in law, Louise Balan; brother-in-law,
Arnold (Muriel) Boettger as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 63
years, Jean Larratt a few short months before his passing; son, Gord Larratt; his
beloved sister Kathryn Burrows, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Welikoklad, Blanche
Boettger and brothers-in law, Norman
Balan, Harold Boettger, Harvey Burrows, George Welikoklad, his parents Helen
and Gordon Larratt and in-laws, Elmer and Agnes Boettger.
