In Memory
Wendy Lou Erickson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Lou Erickson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Wendy peacefully left us on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Red Deer Hospice, at the age of 74.
Wendy was born on May 1, 1951, in Red Deer, Alberta, to Walt and Norma Bouteiller. She grew up in a loving home, where family was everything, and her kind and compassionate nature was nurtured from a young age.
On September 4, 1971, Wendy married the love of her life, Don Erickson. Together, they built a life full of love, joy, and cherished memories. Wendy was a devoted mother to their three children, Stacey, Robyn, and Jayson, and a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Nicholas Coyle, Emily Coyle, Sam Erickson, Joe Erickson, and Brooklyn Ell. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she took great pride in watching them grow.
A lifelong caregiver, Wendy was a registered nurse for many years, spending a significant portion of her career working in the emergency department at Red Deer Regional Hospital. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were unmatched, and she left a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of being cared for by her.
Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Walt and Norma Bouteiller; her daughter, Stacey; and her niece, Deanna. Though she is no longer with us, their love and memories remain a part of her forever.
Wendy is lovingly remembered by her husband Don; her children, Robyn (Amber) and Jayson (Vanessa); her grandchildren; as well as her three sisters and brothers-in-law. She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know her warmth, generosity, and bright spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, in recognition of the compassionate care Wendy received in her final days. https://reddeerhospice.com/donate/
Wendy will be forever remembered for her kindness, her love for her family, and her tireless commitment to others. She touched the lives of so many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace, Wendy. You will always be loved.
