Wendy Milne

Wendy Milne, passed away on Sunday, October 15th in Airdrie, Alberta, at the age of 61 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Tabitha and Joseph Lavallee; her siblings Ron Milne, Vera Bosnjak (John), Linda Milne (Rick), Heather Milne (Cliff), Shawn Milne, Jeannie Milne (Rick); and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Willie Lavallee, her former common law partner; her brother Bill Milne (Edwina); her parents Ronald and Helen Milne (nee-Eglund).

She was a bright light in the world, selfless, loving, and always willing to give. Her kindness was unmatched, she saw the world through love filled glasses, accepted all for who they are, and had love for every living thing. She made new friends everywhere she went. She worked hard, every single day. She prayed for friends, family, and even strangers, daily. She was gentle, kind, and strong.

She loved to dance and make people smile. Scary movie nights were one of her favorite things to do. She loved to jump out from around a corner to spook you. Her laugh was contagious. Her heart was boundless, and she will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Wendy’s Life will be held next summer, in Burford Ontario. Location, date and time to be announced.

How do you describe someone who meant so much to you? She was my best friend growing up. All my favorite things are because of her, even the little things like scary movies , cheese whiz, salsa toast, dancing to Janis Joplin in the kitchen, and SO much more. Memories of laughter and love fill my head because that is the way she would want to be remembered. From grief, we can try to find purpose in the pain. The only purpose I can take from losing who was an angel to this world, is to honor her kindness and compassion. To spread love where there is hate, and to accept all for who they are not what they have done. You will forever be loved and missed by so many. I am looking forward to the day I can see you again. I love you.

I remember the times when Wendy and I would have so much fun together. She was quick witted and funny. She would make me laugh until I cried. In our younger years, we made a pact to grow old together, no matter the circumstances.
Alcohol addiction won her over, and then a brain injury in the latter part of her life left her true nature unrecognizable at times.
She and Willie, raised two beautiful children, Joseph & Tabitha, to be the respectable & honest adults they are today. My heart goes out to them.
In life we make choices, and I choose now to remember Wendy in her true nature as the fun loving, caring person she was. God bless and rest in peace my beautiful sister.
