Willard Ernest Richards

It It is with great sadness that the family of Willard Ernest Richards announce his passing on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at the young age of 94. Born on December 6, 1928, in Vanguard Saskatchewan, he was the first child of Clint and Ellen Richards. He grew up in the rural life alongside three brothers and four sisters. Willard farmed for 47 years, from 1945 to 1992. During that time, Willard married Helen daughter of William and Annie Luciak. And along with bountiful crops and countless farm animals, they raised four fine children. At retirement the Richards’ moved to Medicine Hat, AB to live another 28 years were Willard enjoyed his wood working, gardening, and the weather. They lastly settled in Rimbey, AB until the day he was taken from us. Willard loved to visit friends, strangers and

whoever else he could get to listen to his stories. He was a very kind and generous man with an immense sense of humor and was always up to teasing all! He was always happy to reminisce about the good old days. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Helen, children Elaine Richards, Elmerine Yarbough, Larry Richards, and Eileen Binder (Stephen). Willard is also survived by five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
