Willemina Nyenhuis

The Lord called home our beloved Mom and Oma, Willemina Nyenhuis, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 81. While we grieve her passing, we give thanks for a life richly blessed and take comfort in the assurance of her eternal home with her Savior.

Willemina was born in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, and emigrated to Canada at the age of six. Canada became the place where she would build her life, her family, and a home filled with love, hospitality, conversation, and faith.

She met and married her beloved husband Cornelius, and together they shared sixty years of marriage, a milestone joyfully celebrated with family last summer. Together, they built a life grounded in commitment, devotion, and shared joy.

Mom was immensely proud of her children, Darren (Chantale), Rachelle (Bill), and Christina (Gary). Over the past twenty‑five years, she especially treasured her role as Oma, delighting in her grandchildren, Matthew (Naomy), Liam, Nicolas, Christophe, Annaliese, Rebecca, Isabelle, Connor, and Abby; and her great‑grandchildren, Myla and Maveryk.

Willemina loved spending time with family and friends and cherished the simple joys of life—camping and vacations, shared meals, coffees, meaningful conversations, and many glasses of wine. These moments, and the memories they created, are a lasting gift to all who knew her.

Though we miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing that her life was full of joy and that she now rests in the peace of her Savior. With gratitude, we raise our glasses in celebration of a life richly lived.

Celebration of Life will be at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 2111 52 Street NW, Calgary, AB on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 1:00 PM. A Private Graveside Service will held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
