William "Bill" Lepp

Bill was born on July 19, 1931 in Namaka, Alberta and was raised on the family farm in Rosemary, Alberta.

Dad left home in his late teen to go and work in the Crowsnest Pass, where he drove a Yukon in the coal mines. After he finished working at the coal mines and returned to Calgary, he began working as a meat cutter and also helped care for his younger sister, Alma, who at the time was in the hospital. While he was visiting Alma one day, there was a certain young lady that had caught his eye and her name was Lillian. Lilliam and Bill were married on July 20, 1957 and they were married for 51 years before Lillian passed away in 2009. They were blessed with four boys… Eldon, Darroll, Lyndon and Jason.

Once Lillian and Bill were married they settled in Calgary and Bill continues to work as a meat cutter until a better opportunity came his way. In 1967 he had the opportunity to work for the City of Calgary as a Transit Driver. He worked as a a Transit Driver for 26 years and then retired from the Transit in 1993 and began to care for Lillian. Even though he had retired from the Transit, he still continued to work as a school bus driver on a part time basis.

One of Bill’s passions in life was his faith and his ability to memorize scripture. Not only could dad memorize scripture in a matter of minutes, but when asked to quote scripture, he did not have to look that scripture up, he would just rattle it off without hesitation.

In February 2018, Bill’s health started to change and after a month in the hospital, he was given the news that he would not be able to return to his home because he was no longer able to care for himself. Bill moved from a few care homes until he settled on Whitehorn Retirement Village, where he resided until his passing.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Lyndon (Judith) and Jason; grandchildren, Colten and Caitlyn; brother, George (Jacquie). He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Lillian (2009); his son, Eldon (1983) and his girlfriend; and son, Darroll (1993); his siblings, Helen, Henry, Margaret, Mary, Alvin, and Alma. A Funeral Service will be held for Bill at First Alliance Church, 12345 – 40 Street SE, Calgary, AB, on Friday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
