After graduating high school, with support of family, he went to SAIT to receive his Power Engineer Certificate. He not only worked at many buildings in downtown Calgary, AB he also helped with many building startups.

In 2005 Jim and Donna bought their first trailer and became seasonal campers.  When Jim had spare time he loved working with wood. He built book shelves, memory boxes, hope chests and lined old stereo cabinets with cedar. Jim also enjoyed gardening and had an excellent green thumb with a love/hate relationship with a rototiller.

Jim cared deeply for everyone around him and he was truly blessed to have the friends which he had.

Jim and I were friends since high school. Though time passes and opportunities to get together waned, I always remember Jim fondly especially when "Black Betty" is ever played. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jim.

I met Jim through his wife, Donna, with whom I worked. From the couple times I met him, I could tell he was a nice, caring person and loved his wife. He will be greatly missed by loving and caring Donna as well as many others.

Fond memories with Jim taking the cabinet making years through high school. Me and Jim were the top 2 cabinet makers. Becoming friends and a lot of card games, separating as are lives got busy with kids and marriage, but keeping in touch once and awhile. Jim had a heart of gold. Myself and Mary wish we could of had more time and moments together in retirement. Take care my friend.
