In Memory
William Peter Gunston
January 12th, 1950 - January 6th, 2026
Born in Okotoks, AB
Passed in Red Deer, AB

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of William Peter Gunston announce his passing.
Peter loved old cars and if you ever wanted to find him, you would have had to look at the car shows or car auctions. He would be there commenting on the make, model and power of the cars as this was a true strength of his. His talents for this can be seen in the vast model collection that he had. Along with many family times spent out camping and fishing, you would also see him perfecting his love of food by grilling up the best hot dogs in one of his favourite spots. A meal enjoyed by all. Peter had a love for all his tractors, as told to all, John Deere was the favourite. The use of his hands to build and use his imagination lead to many beautiful pieces. A thing later that was taken from him in his battle.
Peter will be loving remembered by wife, Janet; daughter, Sheila; step-daughter Laurie; granddaughters, Melissa and Madison; and great–granddaughter Olivia; along with many extended family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Mabel and Henry along with his infant son.
Our family would like to thank all of the people that cared for Peter is his final days. Your compassion was a strength for our family. A celebration of life will be held in July at the Waskasoo Estates Community Centre.
Donations can be made to the Lending Cupboard or the Red Deer Hospice.
